Tempo Launches TotalAssist® to Deliver Automated Lifeline Signup

Atlanta, Ga. – December 15, 2015 – Tempo Telecom, LLC, (“Tempo”) a leading provider of prepaid and Lifeline voice and data communications services throughout the United States, announced today the launch of Tempo TotalAssist, a new proprietary, web-based mobile app and back-end system that automates the signup and approval process for eligible Lifeline wireless phone customers.

TotalAssist was developed in-house and is designed to store, track, process and approve Lifeline applications in real time through the National Accountability Lifeline Database (NLAD). TotalAssist simplifies both the approval process and the back-end system process and maintains 100% compliance with Lifeline program rules. It was designed to work on desktop computers, laptops, mobile tablets and smartphones and has been optimized for touch-screen use.

Tempo’s Lifeline home phone and wireless products help families and individuals in the U.S. obtain government assisted wireline and wireless services so that they can have access to doctors, family members, emergency service providers, as well as employers and other critical contacts. The federal Lifeline program was created by Congress in 1985 to ensure that all Americans have access to quality telephone service. To be eligible for the Lifeline program, potential customers must take part in a federal assistance program such as Medicaid or Food Stamps, or earn no more than 135 percent of the federal poverty level. Subscribers may not receive service from more than one Lifeline carrier at the same time.
